MoniQA seeks to ensure long-lasting cooperation amongst leading research institutions, industrial partners, and the small- and medium-sized businesses that dominate European food manufacture and retail. In order to achieve this ambitious aim, the partners are undertaking the following activities:
Coordinating and merging research infrastructure
MoniQA aims to merge the strength of its partners through a shared use of infrastructure. This includes setting up a database of research infrastructure resources, clarifying the terms and conditions for infrastructure sharing and developing scenarios for the sharing of said infrastructure.
Personnel exchange and mobility
MoniQA will establish a mobility programme to promote the exchange of personnel for both secondments and full relocation within the network institutions. This includes setting up PhD student bursaries.
Achieving network sustainability
Sustainability in the context of the MoniQA project means ensuring the continuation of the network cooperation and services developed beyond the lifetime of the project. Thus, a variety of actions are necessary, including development of joint economic models, research programmes and routes for sharing intellectual property as well as initiating new collaborative research proposals and developing collaborative services.
