Cereal foods are an essential part of our daily diet. Food safety issues have become increasingly important in recent years. Pesticide residues are groups of unwanted and ubiquitous chemical contaminants found in cereals and oilseeds via weathering of the uses of pesticides for controlling the crop pests. In recent years, monitoring and surveillance schemes have been implemented in many countries, and more attention has paid to the standards’ maximum limits, and analysis and detection methods for identification and quantification of pesticide residues in foods.

This workshop will comprise a day of introduction to pesticides residue detection and analysis for cereal grains, oilseeds, and derived products. Issues regarding EU and Chinese pesticide residues will be presented with a focus on food safety regulations and standards, residue limits, and the analytical method developments on pesticide residues.
