MoniQA presented in Sudan

The MoniQA project was recently presented by John Taylor, ICC President, on behalf of Roland Poms, the coordinator of MoniQA, at the Workshop on Production, Processing and Marketing of Cereals held in Khartoum, Sudan. The workshop was jointly organised by the Cabinet Ministry, the Sudanese Standards & Metrology Organization and the National Sudanese Committee for ICC. It took place on May 10-11, 2009 and brought together key stakeholders from the area.

Topics included the production of cereals in Sudan, cereal processing, marketing of cereals and cereal products, standards of Sorghum and Mille as well as quality assurance. The participants also had the opportunity to meet with the Sudanese Business and Employers Federation and to visit several facilities (a laboratory, a bakery, a food research centre and a mill).
