MoniQA to strengthen ASEAN-EU collaboration in food safety

Following an invitation by CIRAD - the French Agricultural Research Center for International Development and AIT – the Asian Institute of Technology to Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the EU-Southeast Asia Expert Meeting on Food Quality, Safety & Traceability, 24-27 February 2009, MoniQA was represented by Roland Poms from ICC, Anton Alldrick from Campden BRI, and Joerg Stroka from JRC- IRMM to identify topics of common interest for EU and SEA partners in the thematic "Food Quality, Safety & Traceability" toward a strengthening of S&T collaboration between Southeast Asia and EU in the FP7 programmes.

Under the leadership of MoniQA 4 new proposals for future EU calls for SICAs (Specific International Cooperation Actions) were drafted. During the successful meeting chaired by Didier Monet from CIRAD and Sudip Rakshit from AIT a total of 10 proposals were drafted and collaboration initiatives between ASEAN and EU countries were substantiated. The meeting was sponsored by the European Commission and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
